Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
This is Gumbo's North, a Cajun restaurant in an old Masonic building on the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas in Georgetown Texas, the Red Poppy Capitol of Texas, in the heart of God's Country-The beautiful Hill Country of Central Texas. Gumbo’s North opened on the Square in Georgetown in October 2013. The Cajun restaurant offers a wide variety of items, but steak and salmon are most popular.
In this photo, I’ve ignored the technicalities of reality and introduced
a dark sepia for the sky and the building itself, as well as a texture
for both. I feel they match the dreary mood for this wintry shot on
the square.
I think this building may run a close second to the
Courthouse as the most photographed building in
Georgetown, especially at Christmas.
When it comes to shooting a digital photograph, I basically have two choices: I can take a realistic image (one that represents a literal view of the scene) or make an artistic rendering (one in which certain aspects of reality are altered with software in postproduction—usually by manipulating the colors and details or by deleting or adding textures and other elements). Most of the time, I make an artistic image.
