Texas Bluebonnet Vista - Bluebonnet Landscape Images -
The Texas hill country dry river bed was full of bluebonnets as far as the eye could see with the sunset on the horizon it made for a wonderful day. This was like a sea of blue with a sky of yellow, pinks, and orange it was a fabulous site in the Texas Hill Country along the Lake Travis or Colorado River which ever. This is just a short distance from our house at a Park along Lake Travis. We were coming back from Ennis when we decided to stop at the park and capture this fantastic sunset with these endless Texas bluebonnets. This park sit along the LakeTravis along the Colorado river and this area was underwater for years now we are back in drought and guess what shows up bluebonnets and a little sunshine and wow it is windfall of blue flowers as far as the eye can see. The Texas hill country has been one of the best places to capture pictures of bluebonnets landscapes in the past and we can only hope forever. Taking pictures of bluebonnets is one of our favorite things to capture. There are many varieties of bluebonnets in Texas from the chiso bluebonnet, to the sandyland and of course the The Texas lupine has been the state flower since the 1901 and all other bluebonnets were included in 1971 by the Texas Legislature which made all lupines in the state the state flower. For most the most popular wildflower is the Lupinus texensis or texas bluebonnet or as we call it the lone star bluebonnet. We have come back here every year since and since we took this particular field never came back again to this level, maybe some day. We don't understand why but it has not come back at all. It was a super bloom year only once in a lifetime I guess.
