I purchased the shaggy angora goat on the wood mount for a gift for my neice. Loved how the wood grain comes through on the print. Excellent purchase! Would definitely purchase again.

Artist's Description
UPDATE at bottom of this story: Eldon Craig, at 78 -years-old, was the oldest cowboy on the historic Oklahoma Centennial Chisholm Trail Cattle Drive in September 2007. This is one of the portrait images in my book, Riding the Chisholm Trail: Once in a lifetime (found on Blurb).
Two years later, I managed to catch up with Eldon again after many phone calls - he was out working hay till all hours of the night. He shared his story with me and said he'd do it again if given the chance.
"I was 3-years-old when my folks bought this farm from my grandpa, 160 acres. Granddad (James Leroy Craig) homesteaded in Wakita in 'the run.'" Eldon lives in the Enid area and is a cattle rancher by generation inheritance - otherwise known as born into it.
About his adventure on the Chisholm Trail:
"It was just enjoyable to think I was going up the way Jesse Chisholm basically followed up '81', but with people watching (us in '07)."

About Toni Hopper
Everyone needs a once in a lifetime experience. You know the kind. One that leaves a lasting impression and even changes how you look at life, how you look at your surroundings. It's given me a new appreciation of our country's history and what it took for our pioneers, my ancestors, to forge what we now enjoy and many times undervalue. While it took me most of my life to appreciate these things, reflection...

I'm behind quite a bit in updating some of my image descriptions. Eldon died March 10, 2021. I'm glad I had a chance to meet him and share just a piece of his life story. I probably could have written a book. Here's his online obituary link: https://obituaries.enidnews.com/obituary/eldon-craig-1081788928
